Renovation of the Tallinn Hipodroomi intersection will begin this spring. Reterra, in collaboration with Tallinna Vesi and Utilitas, signed a contract with Megido OÜ for the reconstruction of the entire Paldiski Road intersection. The total cost of the construction project is 11.6 million euros plus VAT, and the infrastructure is scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2027.

According to Reigo Randmets, CEO of Reterra, the construction work will be carried out in two phases over the next two years. The section heading toward Haabersti will be reconstructed in the summer of 2026, and the section heading toward the city centre will be reconstructed in the summer of 2027. The intersection will remain open to traffic throughout the construction period, although temporary traffic diversions should be expected.

The Hipodroomi intersection connects Paldiski Road, Endla Street, and Mustamäe Road, and its renovation is a key part of the area’s overall development. At the same time, the number of lanes will not be reduced as a result of the reconstruction, which will help maintain the intersection’s high traffic capacity in the future.
